ACKNOWLEDGMENT
FAMILY EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT
The University of Connecticut maintains the confidentiality and security of records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), in addition to other federal and state laws. These laws pertain to the security and privacy of personal academic information, along with identifying information such as student identification numbers. Genesis Capital in its relationship with UConn also maintains this confidentiality.
FERPA protects student records. FERPA requires post-secondary educational institutions and agencies to conform to fair information practices in their handling of student data. Among the provisions of the act are the requirements that data be used only for intended purposes and that those responsible for student data take reasonable precautions to prevent misuse of it.
Examples include student identification numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, etc.
By submitting this form, I agree that the University of Connecticut may provide my UConn email and student identification number to Genesis Capital in order to match the serial number of the laptop I wish to purchase.
